Ben Lee is a serial entrepreneur, CEO/Co-Founder of Neon Roots, and full-time executive coach. [1][2][3] Lee attended Loyola Marymount University from 2008-2010 before leaving to pursue his first startup. Lee's agencies, Neon Roots and Rootstrap, have developed 500+ applications for 500+ founders with $700M in combined revenue and 100M+ downloads. [4][5] In 2020, he exited Rootstrap to start a new studio for C-level coaching as well as design strategy for digital brands. [6]

Career


Ben Lee began his business career in 2005 as a Marketing Director and Operations Manager for the Dolce Group. That same year, Lee founded and served as CEO for Angel City Entertainment. In 2008, Lee founded Archetype Media, Inc, a consultancy specializing in hospitality brands, and in 2011 was a client partner with Citrusbyte, a development studio for startups and enterprise customers. Since 2008, Lee has been a partner with Kitchen 24, a 24-hour restaurant and bar in West Hollywood. [7] After leaving Loyola Marymount University, Lee started AttackSheets.com, an online marketplace for law school outlines. He exited the business in 2010. [8][9]

In 2011, he co-founded Neon Roots, a Los Angeles-based digital development agency, at the age of 22 and currently acts as CEO. [10][11] While serving as CEO of Neon Roots, Lee co-founded Rootstrap, a pre-development app workshop that would ultimately merge with one of Uruguay’s top development shops, TopTier Labs. With both businesses under the Rootstrap brand, the agency would go on to collaborate with Fortune 500 companies like Google, Spotify, and MasterClass as well as public figures like Snoop Dogg and Tony Robbins. In the last 3 years, he took Rootstrap to over 150 employees across four countries. [15] He exited the business in 2020 to focus on coaching full-time with an emphasis on biohacking, as well as education through e-courses and social media like TikTok and LinkedIn where Lee holds a social audience of over 150K and 150M views on both platforms. Lee has volunteer experience with the Los Angeles Public Library where he served as Art Director and Product Strategist for the first ever Augmented Reality course taught in a major university. He also served as Product Development manager for the USC Annenberg Innovation Lab, and as a Panel Judge for the Los Angeles Film School. [18]
